The Kamakhya Temple of Guwahati, located on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra river above the Nilachal Hills, is a historic Shakti pith (shrine of divine power). Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Morigaon district of Assam covering an area of 38.85 sq. km.
