Who Are Eligible For This Pass?
The special pass is applied to all serving and retired personnel that comes under Ministry of Defence i.e. Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. However, showing of defence Id card is mandatory for this pass. Only one family member can visit with the Defence personnel for the darshan.
Booking and Cost of Defence Pass For Kamakhya Temple
The cost of a defence pass for Maa Kamakhya Temple is Rs. 101/- ( One Hundred and One Rupees Only). There is no online system for booking these passes for Kamakhya Temple. You must visit the Special Ticket Counter to book the defence pass or ticket. The special ticket counter is situated on the left side of the entrance gate. The ticket counter is generally not busy. A token number is written on the pass. The help desk at the counter would guide you about the main entrance gate and your timing slot.
Online Booking of Defence Pass
Kamakhya temple authority has recently launched online service portal for booking defence pass. You can book defence ticket for kamakhya temple by following this link https://defence.mkdonline.in/. After you visit the site, you have to register using your mobile number, identity card (issued by Ministry of Defence) and correspondence address.
The process is simple. After that you have to select your shift (morning or afternoon). Available slots are colored green as shown in the picture below. You can only book 7 days prior to your planned visiting date.
The online booking services of Maa Kamakhya Devalaya does not currently accept Identity Cards issued to dependents of Defence personnel. You have to produce your original defence ID, issued by Ministry of Defence.
Kamakhya Temple VIP Darshan Timings
There is no separate timing for the VIP pass, defence pass or general pass. The temple door opens at 8 AM and closes at 4:30 PM (winter)/5 PM (summer). There is a break time from 1 PM to 2:30 PM during which the temple gate remains closed. However, if you are booking online you have to choose morning shift (7:30 AM to 11:30 AM) and evening shift (2 PM to 3:30 PM), as per your convenience.
